About the GST Calculator

Add GST to a base amount or extract the base amount and GST from a tax-inclusive price, across the common Indian GST slabs, with a CGST/SGST split.

How the result is produced

Add mode calculates GST as `base × rate`; remove mode backs the tax out of a tax-inclusive amount using `inclusive × rate / (100 + rate)`, then splits the result into CGST and SGST for the displayed model.

Example: Enter a ₹10,000 base amount at 18% to inspect the total invoice value and the displayed CGST/SGST split.

Limitations and review notes

GST treatment depends on supply type, place of supply, registration, exemptions, rounding, and current law. This calculator is not a filing or invoice-compliance system.

How to use it

  1. 1. Choose Add GST or Remove GST.
  2. 2. Enter the amount and select a GST rate.
  3. 3. Review the base amount, total amount, and GST split.
  4. 4. Check the CGST and SGST breakdown for invoicing.

Which GST rates are supported?

The common Indian slabs: 0%, 0.25%, 3%, 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%.
